Maricopa Arts Council to hold gala for new gallery

The Maricopa Agricultural Center is located on Smith-Enke Road northeast of Maricopa.
MARICOPA — The public is welcome to attend the Maricopa Arts Council's gala introducing the latest major art gallery in the city, this time at a brand new setting.
The gallery, titled “MAC at the MAC,” hopes to feature wall art, sculptures, pottery, ceramics and glass at the Maricopa Agrictulural Center.
Installations will take place on May 21 during University of Arizona’s Maricopa Agricultural Center’s business hours and will be on display for three months, with official take-down scheduled for Sept. 10-12.
MAC will host an opening gala of the art display on May 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. for artists, families and community members to enjoy.
“We look forward to being identified as an arts and culture center in our fair city and increasing awareness of what the University of Arizona’s Maricopa Agricultural Center has to offer our gorgeous community,” said the center’s director, Ken Johnson.
The arts group previously called on artists to enter up to three pieces in the show. The following had their pieces accepted:
